Your initial consultation with Dr. Wall will require one hour. There is a fee of $90 for the consultation. This is a one-time fee that covers any subsequent consultations or discussions. If you schedule a cosmetic surgical procedure, this $90 fee is applied to the cost of your surgery.

Our office hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We prefer to book new patient consultations in the afternoon between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to allow for additional time, if needed. The Consultation

Plastic surgeons view the face as a composite of discrete regions (e.g., the nose, the eyes, the chin, the lips, the forehead, the cheeks, the jowl area, and the ears). These regions are referred to as "aesthetic units". The specialty of facial plastic surgery developed in recognition of the complex relationships shared by these units.

For many patients, there is a concern with a particular area of the face. Whether the result of aging, over-exposure to sun, or inherited traits, these units can appear to be in disharmony. In order to enhance the overall appearance of the face, it is important to recognize that each area contributes to the overall facial appearance. Moreover, the concerns for these unique areas must be addressed separately.

During your evaluation, you will have the opportunity to discuss your concerns with Dr. Wall. Also, you will be able to ask questions about procedures you've read about in magazines or heard about from friends. Unfortunately, there are a lot of misconceptions repeated in newspaper columns or on television. Dr. Wall will attempt to separate "fact" from "fiction," and rumors from realistic expectations. Communication is the key to ensuring that you will be pleased with the results of the operation.

At the initial office visit, Dr. Wall will inquire about your medical and surgical history. After obtaining this information, he will then assess the thickness, texture and elasticity of your skin, the severity of wrinkles and folds, the tone of the facial muscles, the prominence of the cheek bones, and the shape of the jawline. Photographs will be taken from a number of vantage points to assist in highlighting features unique to your anatomy.

The medical and surgical options for addressing your concerns will be reviewed. Dr. Wall will also explain the risks, benefits and alternatives for a given procedure, so that you will be comfortable with your decision. Ultimately, the overwhelming majority of patients are pleased with their facial surgery. After all, the goal of the facial plastic surgery is not to create a "different" face. Rather, the objective is to refine and accentuate the elegant features that you already have.
